Join us: Freedom not Fear 2018

Mission

Decisions taken in Brussels impact our every-day lives. The EU is passing disproportionate governmental surveillance measures. Therefore, the Freedom not Fear conference in Brussels is a place where civil rights activists meet to discuss change. We invite you to join us for about three days of discussions, networking, protest & meetings with activists & politicians. We say NO to surveillance, data retention and PNR and demand the respect of our fundamental rights in the digital environment. Read our full list of demands from 2014.

Costs and application

Freedom Not Fear Brussels is for free and you don't have to register – just come, join and participate! FNF Brussels is non-profit, non-commercial and organised by volunteers who are working for free. This is only possible if people help organising!

When and where?

When?

21–24 September 2018 (Friday–Monday).

Freedom Not Fear starts on Friday evening. The meeting part will end on Sunday evening. Monday, 24 September can be used for meetings with people from the EU Commission and Parliament.

Where?

Since 2011, FNF takes place at “Mundo B”, Rue d'Edimbourg 26. Mundo B ist the home of some non-governmental organisations and a very lovely place with lots of space for our meeting.

Freedom not Fear 2018 is a BarCamp / conference – there will be space for your spontaneous session as well as for pre-organised ones. Help us organise! If you have an idea, mention it on the Schedule page.

Travelling and accommodation

Generally, travel and accommodation will have to be organised autonomously. But there is the option to organise some mass accomodation or participate in an coordinated journey.
