Guatemala City (Guatemala) - Around 50 people attended the information talk about privacy and surveillance. After that people from OLPC, from community radios from México and Northern Guatemala, international members, developers and activists joined to the conversation. The Freedom Not Fear action was within the framework of the Social Forum Americas- Guatemala 2008.
Buenos Aires (Argentine)- Just now, there are information talks about public privacy, data retention and data protection and workshops about encryption and chaoscomputing in the center of the union of argentine university lecturers/ Pasco 255/ downtown Buenos Aires. The activities startet at 3 pm (8pm CET).

Washington (USA) - United States activists used the Global Action Day to call on people to go out on the streets and take pictures of camera surveillance. Berlin (Germany) - The demonstration has reached a record number of more than 100.000 participants. The front part of the demonstration has arrived at the Platz des 18. März. Copenhagen/Aarhus/Odense (Denmark) - 40 activists were handing out 500 anti-tracking software CDs from 12 pm on public squares of their respective cities. Skopje (Macedonia) - Working at the information desk, 50 voluntary have been handing out about 3000 flyers to interested citizens. Sofia (Bulgaria) - In front of the Bulgarian Parliament a peaceful demonstration was held with about 200 participants against Data Retention and for Digital Rights Protection in Bulgaria. Rome (Italy) - A conference on Civil Rights and surveillance titled "Salvare i diritti civili, fermare l'escalation della sorveglianza" ("Save Civil Rights, stop escalation of surveillance") was held at the Palazzo Valentini. Sofia (Bulgaria) - Start of demonstration for digital rights
At 11 am (local time) the demonstration started at the National Parliament. So far more than 100 people have gathered to demonstrate for a liberal Internet legislature in Bulgaria and to protest against data retention. There will be further events in the course of the day.
