One "avenue" is the negotiations for a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). In the U.S. there has been a call for keeping data protection issues outside this trade agreement; this call was issued by the NGO Center for Digital Democracy Thomas is in touch with the Center, and with its help will bring input from the mid-September meeting of the ad hoc working group in Washington DC to our session in Brussels.
The [TACD] is also working on the TTIP in general, and will hold a meeting in Brusssels on 29th October.
